The Wooden Lacing & Hamming Toy – Dual-Skill Fine-Motor Learning Toy is a thoughtfully engineered, NEP 2020-aligned resource that fuses the classic Montessori “lace-a-shoe” activity with a tactile hammer-and-peg station, giving children aged 3-8 years an exciting, multisensory pathway to master fine-motor coordination, bilateral hand use, eye–hand precision, and early STEM problem-solving. Crafted from sustainably sourced hardwood, the kit features two sturdy shoe-shaped blocks, each 100 mm × 75 mm × 18 mm, permanently secured at their centres to a smooth 200 mm × 70 mm × 18 mm bench, creating a compact, tabletop workstation perfect for Anganwadis, Balvatikas, preschools, occupational-therapy rooms, and home-learning corners. Vivid shoe graphics printed on both blocks encourage children to practise real-world skills such as threading, criss-cross lacing, tying bows, and reversing knots using the included colourful strings that glide effortlessly through eight precision-drilled 6 mm eyelets on one side. Flip the bench and the fun switches to a dynamic hammer-and-peg game: four larger 15 mm holes host half-slotted wooden pins (Ø 15 mm × 60 mm) that invite little learners to tap, push, and pull, reinforcing grip strength, wrist stability, cause-and-effect reasoning, and proprioceptive feedback. The accompanying square wooden mallet head (35 mm × 70 mm) fixed to a 130 mm ergonomic handle is perfectly weighted for safe, satisfying strikes that build muscle memory essential for handwriting stamina and scissor control.
